Certification & QA

A Vitamin Manufacturer that follows the rules and cares about quality.

At Venus we know as a nutritional supplement manufacturer our commitments and business relationships are with the hundreds of thousands of people that consume our products. Because of the trust that our client’s customers place in us (who we will probably never see or know) to use our products to improve their well-being, we take the privilege of vitamin manufacturing very seriously. In an effort to increase awareness about nutraceutical manufacturing standards and quality requirements please review the following information about how to check if your supplement manufacturer is following the rules.

FDA Registered Facility

Nutraceutical manufacturing is very different from pharmaceutical manufacturing in many ways. The biggest difference that should concern someone purchasing supplements to market is that the standards for quality control are not strictly enforced for nutraceutical manufacturing. Because of this various independent agencies have taken the initiative to monitor vitamin manufacturing processes and activities, most notably Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). At Venus we feel that any guidelines placed on quality should be the minimum requirements. While there is no requirement to signup for approval from a third-party agency at Venus we signup for the strictest independent entity monitoring food supplements: the FDA. Below is a link to our registration with the FDA. To prove your manufacturer is proactively following the rules ask them to see their documentation with a governing quality control agency.

FDA-Registration

Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) Compliant Facility

In addition to meeting FDA standards, Venus Pharmaceuticals also meets the current Good Manufacturing Processes’ (cGMP) requirements for nutritional supplement manufacturing. Because of our commitment to following all the rules and regulations to ensure that the end-user receives a product that is contamination free and exactly contains what the label says.

How do I find out if my Vitamin Manufacturer is breaking the rules?

The quickest way to check on your nutritional supplement manufacturer is to search for them on the FDA Enforcement Report Index: http://www.fda.gov/opacom/Enforce.html. Now keep in mind that you will have find out the exact name of the manufacturer that is making your products. Do not be surprised if you are working with a company outsourcing the vitamin manufacturing, make sure they have documentation proving they are the manufacturer. Now just because your supplement manufacturer has not broken the rules before doesn’t mean your product is perfect. The best thing to do is to always test the product at a facility that did not manufacture the product. If you want to learn more about how to test your product and evaluate your current manufacturer give us a call.
